Soon after its founding in 1932, St. Mark's was served on an alternating basis by two American Lutheran Church pastors from New York City.  On July 10, 1932, the Reverend R. W. Schlachter was installed as the first pastor of St. Mark's Church, serving as pastor until April, 1940.  On September 1, 1940, the Rev. C. G. H. Menering was installed as the second pastor of St. Mark's and served until February 1946.
